HOW WE BEGIN
NaRai Siam Cuisine is owned and operated by Jasmine and her husband, Harvey. We have been proudly serving the greater Colorado Springs area since 2008, and our name has become synonymous with quality Thai food. When we arrived in Colorado Springs from Ohio, we were an Air Force family with two children. Hungry for Thai food, we tried a place in town that was recommended to us. One bite of their Pad Thai was all that it took, Jasmine became convinced that she needed to offer her take on Thai cuisine to Colorado Springs.
One evening six months later, Harvey came home from his work at Peterson Air Force Base to a surprise to hear that Jasmine acquired a place to start her Thai restaurant. A local Chinese restaurant owner expressed his exhaustion of running his restaurant to her, and she simply asked if she could buy the equipment and take over the lease. To her surprise, he agreed on the spot. So in March 2008, Jasmine opened NaRai Thai Restaurant in the Rockrimmon area.
The first several years were met with significant challenges. Little did we know at the time that we opened a restaurant during what would later become known as the “2008 Financial Crisis”. Then a couple of years later, Harvey was tasked to deploy to Afghanistan during what was known as “The Surge”, when we had the most number of US troops deployed there. Then when he returned from Afghanistan, he turned right back around for the Middle East with assignment orders to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for an entire year. Despite all of these challenges, Jasmine stayed focused on the children and the business and was able to win loyal customers each day with her Thai cuisine offerings.
In February 2014, with Harvey retiring from the Air Force, we opened our second location, NaRai Siam Cuisine, in the Broadmoor/Cheyenne Mountain area. With a larger kitchen, NaRai Siam Cuisine was able to offer more menu items than NaRai Thai Restaurant.
Another 11 years later, an opportunity arose to open a location in the Northgate / Flying Horse area and we opened White Lotus Cafe in November 2025. When we first opened NaRai Thai Restaurant in 2008, you could count the number of Thai restaurants in Colorado Springs with just two hands. The number of Thai restaurants in town has grown dramatically since 2008, so White Lotus Cafe is a step in a new direction with the first ever offerings in town of Asian style breakfast items, a new focus on Thai fusion dishes, and Asian style elegant cake and bakery offerings. Of course, we still offer the most popular items from NaRai Thai Restaurant and NaRai Siam Cuisine. But to make sure we can apply max focus on this new venture, we made the difficult decision to close NaRai Thai Restaurant in December 2025.
Having grown up in the area often known as “The Golden Triangle”, Jasmine aims to bring you the best Thai food and Asian-inspired dishes in town. Our dining room experience is designed to bring you a casual and relaxing atmosphere. At NaRai Siam Cuisine, we aim to provide you with the best Thai cuisine in town. And at White Lotus Cafe, we aim to continuously surprise you with new breakfast and fusion offerings, and with our in-house elegantly crafted cake and coffee offerings!
